Mary Thanks for the reminder.
Area 16 - The Area Ball at the Queens Hotel Leeds on Friday 26th October 2007 was very successful
and enjoyed by all who attended. Many thanks are due to Val Hobson and the Davison family who organised the event.
In 2008 we are holding the Ball at the Oulton Hall Hotel near Rothwell on Friday 14th November,
so make a date in your diaries and look out for further details or enquire of Michelle Davison for further information.
Sadly Sykehouse Arena will not be holding any further affiliated shows,
Look out for two new centres with good facilities The Manor Grange Stud, Cridling Stubbs, Knottingley and Beckendale Farm,
Thorne will both be holding a series of shows commencing in April 2008.
The Doncaster Show Jumping Society, Sheffield Shows, the South Yorkshire Charity Shows and Westfield Park E.C.
have also a diary of shows throughout the summer so look out for their dates on the websites.
The Area Show will be held at Edlington Wood on Sunday 15th June and will be running a 2nd Round British Novice Competition.
Di Boddy will be the Course Builder.

Despite the weather the Area show at Edlington on the 16th June went ahead thanks to the hard

work of the committee, many volunteers and the Hughes family. The entries were disappointing,

particularly in the junior classes but the riders who made the journey enjoyed good jumping conditions

and the courses of Di Bobby and Alan Pearson.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors the show will not make a loss but if we are to continue

to organize Area shows then we need the full support of the Area members. We would congratulate

Carl Curtis on his recent achievements on Panacee also all our members who were in the ribbons

at the Pony of the year Show and the Hickstead British Jumping Derby meeting.

 

The Annual Ball has been arranged to take place at the

QUEENS HOTEL LEEDS on Friday 26th OCTOBER and the cost is £45.

Michelle Davison is the organizer and places/tables can be reserved by telephone number 07817 448150.

I would recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment.

Training

We are joining forces with Area 23 and Area 24 and propose to commence a Junior Acadamy at

Tickhill Arena in September 2007 to be led by two of our members Selina Cawkwell and Janet Barton.

Several members have already expressed their interest and I would welcome further enquiries.

BSJA Area 16 may cancel or amalgamate classes as appropriate all dates and venues correct going to release.
